Country Profiles

During the course of the Port State Performance project, 32 port States were identified as showing four or more IUU-listed vessel movements. The Country Profiles detail the information gathered during the research period on these 32 port States, plus the European Union. The Country Profiles detail information concerning port visits made by IUU-listed vessels to the port State, as well as the port State's membership to RFMOs and international argeements that have been ratified.

From April to December 2009, letters were sent to relevant authorities of the profiled port States requesting additional information on the nature of the port visits and measures taken by the port States to restrict port access or services to IUU-listed vessels. We also asked these authorities to clarify any possible situation of noncompliance with RFMOs’ CMMs. See below for a list of country profiles.
