Information from the publicly available online databases maintained by Lloyd’s Register – Fairplay (Sea-web) and Lloyd’s MIU shows 20 port visits by four IUU-listed vessels to eight Chinese ports (Bayuquan, Small Craft Anchorage, Changshu, Dalian, Hong Kong, Qingdao, Quanzhou, Yantai) and an unnamed port. The reported visits were made by three reefers—the Polestar and the Thorgull, which were on the NEAFC/NAFO IUU vessel lists, and the Seed Leaf, on CCAMLR’s IUU vessel list— and a fishing vessel, the Sibley, which was also IUU-listed by CCAMLR. All reported visits took place between September 2006 and August 2008. All port visits are considered as non-violations except of one made by the Seed Leaf to Bayuquan, in December 2007, which is considered as a violation of CCAMLR port State measures. China is a CP to CCAMLR, ICCAT, IOTC and WCPFC and a Cooperating Non-CP to IATTC.
