Information from the publicly available online database maintained by Lloyd’s MIU shows three port visits by three IUU-listed vessels to three ports in Costa Rica (Caldera, Puntarenas and Isla Herradura). Of the three port visits, two were by the fishing vessels, Hsin Tsan No. 2 and Yu Long No.10, listed on the IATTC IUU vessel list. The remaining visit was by a CCAMLR IUU-listed vessel, the Typhoon. One visit to Caldera is considered to be a potential violation of IATTC port State measures whereas the other two visits are considered as non-violations. Costa Rica is a CP to IATTC.
