Information from the publicly available online database maintained by Lloyd’s MIU shows eight port visits by eight IUU-listed vessels to Klaipeda in Lithuania. The visits were conducted by five fishing vessels and three reefers, which were all on the NEAFC IUU vessel list at the time of the port visit. The visits occurred between May 2005 and April 2007. One of the eight port visits is considered as a violation of NEAFC port State measures, three port visits are considered as potential violations, and four port visits in 2006 port State action was performed. Lithuania is a CP to CCAMLR, ICCAT, IOTC, NEAFC, NAFO, SEAFO, WCPFC and GFCM and a Cooperating Non-CP of CCSBT and IATTC by virtue of the EU membership of these bodies. Lithuania became a member of the European Union on 1 May 2004.
