Information from the publicly available online databases maintained by Lloyd’s Register – Fairplay (Sea-web) and Lloyd’s MIU shows 13 port visits by two IUU-listed vessels to three United States ports (Akutan, Captains Bay and Dutch Harbour). Both vessels are reefers: the Polestar was on the NEAFC/NAFO IUU vessel lists while the Seed Leaf was on CCAMLR’s IUU vessel list at the time of the port visits. All reported visits occurred between February and June 2007. Eight visits are considered as violations of NAFO port State measures and five are considered as potential violations of CCAMLR measures. The USA is a CP to CCAMLR, ICCAT, IATTC, NAFO and WCPFC.
