Information from the publicly available online databases maintained by Lloyd’s Register – Fairplay (Sea-web) and Lloyd’s MIU shows three visits by three IUU-listed vessels to three ports in Egypt (Alexandria, Port Said and Damietta). The vessels visited Egypt are the reefer Polestar (NEAFC/NAFO IUU-listed), the fishing vessels Carmen (NEAFC/NAFO IUU-listed) and East Ocean (CCAMLR IUU-listed). The port visits took place between 2006 and 2009. All three visits are considered as non-violations. The two databases also provide information related to seven passages by six vessels through the Suez Canal: two passages by the Polestar and one passage by five fishing vessels, two of which were listed on the NEAFC/NAFO IUU vessel lists and three on CCAMLR’s IUU list. Egypt is a member to GFCM and ICCAT.
