Information from the publicly available online databases maintained by Lloyd’s Register – Fairplay (Sea-web) and Lloyd’s MIU shows one port visit by one IUU-listed vessel to the port of Tuzla in Turkey. The visit of the reefer Polestar, which was on the NEAFC/NAFO/SEAFO IUU vessel lists, was recorded in December 2007 and is considered as non-violation of port State measures. Turkey has been included in this analysis due to the importance of the access provided by the Bosporus Strait between the Mediterranean and Black seas. The databases show eight passages through the Bosporus Strait by the NEAFC/NAFO/SEAFO IUU-listed reefer Cliff between March and November 2008. Turkey is a CP to GFCM and ICCAT.
